One industry-wide objective of the January GCF meeting hosted at RFI in the UK was to give 3G vendors the ability to perform 80% of the high priority protocol test cases from the latest TS34.123 specification defined in GCF work item WI-010.
With the introduction of the Anritsu Toolkit (GCF 34.123 Protocol Conformance Test Toolkit for Release 99) this reconfirms Anritsu's ongoing commitment to support the development and evolution of 3G testing by providing a comprehensive and up-to-date suite of 3G Protocol WI-010 test cases.
The Anritsu toolkit was independently validated running on the Anritsu PTS platform by RFI, itself a leading provider of conformance test and validation services to the mobile communications industry.
PTS users will now be able to replicate exactly the independently validated test environment needed for both preconformance and final certification GCF testing.
The Anritsu PTS software and associated Anritsu MD8480B W-CDMA signalling tester hardware have become the de facto test platform for 3G mobile phone development, integration and pre-conformance testingThey are already used by many of the world's leading mobile phone manufacturers.
The combination supports both W-CDMA test cases and InterRAT test cases for testing handovers to and from GSM/GPRS.
The PTS is complemented by the market leading ME7873A W-CDMA TRX/performance test system and ME7874A W-CDMA RRM conformance test system and forms part of Anritsu's broad product portfolio for 3G testing in R and D, production, deployment, service and support.
