Anritsu has introduced enhanced Wireless Network Simulator software for its MD8470A signalling tester - a basestation simulator for mobile terminal application software development and verification.

Anritsu has introduced enhanced Wireless Network Simulator (WNS) software for its MD8470A signalling tester - a basestation simulator for mobile terminal application software development and verification The WNS software establishes interactive operation between the MD8470A and a W-CDMA or GSM/GPRS mobile terminal

It simplifies the setting of test conditions for application testing, because it eliminates the need to create scenarios, which requires time-consuming application of professional expertise in communication protocols.

Anritsu has also extensively reinforced the MX847010A W-CDMA/GSM simulation kit (for application software development/verification) for the MD8470A by adding messages supported by the decoding function used in scenario trace analysis and continuous, automatic operations of various application tests by external control functions.

With these additional function enhancements, the MD8470A can perform sophisticated mobile terminal application software development and verification.

The MD8470A signalling tester is a basestation simulator that can be used on its own to complete such mobile terminal application software development and verification functions such as voice communication, content downloading and video calling.

These various enhancements make for more efficient application software development and verification.

With the WNS software installed, the network side (MD8470A) automatically responds to originate/disconnect operations from a mobile terminal, or vice versa, enabling establishment/release of a call.

Fundamental communication conditions can be set on the GUI and call processing status of each application test (voice communication, video calling, SMS, browsing/content downloading and simultaneous communication of packet and voice in W-CDMA) are graphically displayed.

Termination and disconnection from the network side are also possible.
