Anritsu and setcom have announced a continued business and engineering collaboration to support the rapid growth in demand for complex application testing.

Anritsu and setcom have announced a continued business and engineering collaboration using Anritsu's MD8470A signalling tester and setcom's S-CAT 5030 UMA/GAN test solution to support the rapid growth in demand for complex application testing The partnership between Anritsu and setcom is born out of both companies recognising the business critical requirements for mobile manufacturers and operators

The need to deliver more choice of high quality, highly reliable applications to demanding consumer groups means increased network and device complexity.

Whilst increased consumer pressure means manufacturers and service providers must deliver products and services to the market in the shortest time to market.

The rapid adoption of UMA/GAN within the industry is seeing many companies striving to achieve a leadership position.

The speed of take up has already seen the PTCRB agreeing that test case validation can start immediately in respect to conformance testing.

Anritsu and setcom announced their partnership for applications testing as early as February 2005 at the 3GSM World congress in Cannes and have continued to develop and strengthen relationships between R and D teams.

The validation of SCAT 5020 Test Cases are made using the MD8470A and to ensure top class customer support, Anritsu has made the MD8470A available to the setcom support team so the support and SW release testing for MD8470-CAT customer is secured.

What this partnership means is that the most critical part of testing UMA/GAN, testing interoperability between new services (GAN) and already existing services (2G), can be achieved quickly and efficiently.

This includes for instance the Hand over Test Cases between WLAN and GSM or cell selection and registration into WLAN/2G depending on availability of those bearers.
