New jitter unit enables Phyworks to reduce evaluation time for 10G products and contributes to quick time to market.

Bristol-based Phyworks has specified Anritsu's MP1810-based 12.5Gbit/s BERT solution with jitter options to support its fabless semiconductor development The UK based company specialises in developing low-cost high-speed integrated mixed signal CMOS devices for 10Gbit/s communications

Phyworks' products are designed to address the market needs for smaller form factor, lower cost and higher performance modules and systems.

The markets Phyworks products address include WAN, SAN, LAN and FTTx.

Anritsu's MP1810 is a leading solution for the design and manufacture of innovative analogue and mixed signal integrated circuits for data and telecomms networking systems and modules.

According to Allard Van Der Horst, Phyworks' Manager of Applications: "The combination of very high performance, flexible configuration and competitive pricing of the Anritsu solution makes this unit an excellent product now and a good investment for the future".

"The new jitter unit enables us to reduce the evaluation time of our 10G products and contributes to a quick time to market".

"We are very pleased with the support from Anritsu".

Phyworks' advanced EDC and TIA technologies are the enablers for enterprise networks operators in realising cost effective 10Gbit/s performance over legacy multimode and single-mode fibre.

In addition, Phyworks offers a range of physical layer products covering datarates from 125Mbit/s to 10Gbit/s, including retimers, TIAs and integrated laser drivers and receivers.

Phyworks' recent introduction of an FTTx product line has set new performance and cost standards for GEPON and GPON applications throughout the world.
