The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) board of directors elected Ansoft board member Dr Ulrich L Rohde as an IEEE Fellow at its November meeting.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) board of directors elected Ansoft board member Dr Ulrich L Rohde as an IEEE Fellow at its November meeting The IEEE Fellow Committee annually awards the grade of Fellow to a select group of recipients who demonstrate significant accomplishments in the various IEEE fields of interest

The Committee elected Dr Rohde for his "contributions to and leadership in the development and industrial implementation of microwave computer-aided design technology".

"Dr Rohde has long been recognised as an expert in the field of microwave circuit simulation and design", said Dr Zoltan Cendes, Ansoft's Chairman and Chief Technology Officer.

"This is a welcome and highly deserved honour".

Dr Rohde, who has served on Ansoft's board of directors since 1997, has more than 20 years of experience in microwave circuit technology.

He has published numerous articles and books on the subject and has lectured throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

Formerly the President and Chief Executive Officer of Compact Software, Dr Rohde is currently President of Communications Consulting, Chairman of Synergy Microwave and a partner of Rohde and Schwarz.
