Taiwanese focus on high-frequency design
Ansoft hosted a recent seminar in Taiwan focusing on the low-temperature cofired ceramic process.
The Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) in Taiwan recently invited Ansoft to host a one-day seminar in Hsinchu, Taiwan, focusing on the low-temperature cofired ceramic (LTCC) process, a widely used method to produce multilayered circuits found in cordless and cellular phones, wireless LAN cards and other high-frequency devices Those attending the seminar included LTCC designers and manufacturers, passive component manufacturers, RF system designers and semiconductor foundries

Seminar material featured innovative methods for designing power amplifier modules, RF switches and front-end modules using Ansoft's HFSS, Ansoft Designer and Spicelink.
The company also introduced its new HFSS Solver on Demand technology, which provides advanced 3D scalable modelling capability for accelerating LTCC design.
The popularity of LTCC technology has grown over the last few years because of the increased need to produce smaller, less expensive RF modules used in commercial products.
