ATI Technologies and ANT are to offer an integrated interactive TV chip solution to broadcasters and manufacturers of digital TV devices.

ATI Technologies and ANT are to offer an integrated interactive TV chip solution to broadcasters and manufacturers of digital TV devices, comprising the ATI Xilleon 220, ANT Fresco Browser and Macromedia Flash Player 5 plug-in application The combined solution will enable a wide range of interactive TV content and services, such as video-on-demand, EPGs (electronic programme guides), games, online shopping, email and Internet browsing

The solution will be demonstrated this week at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The collaboration integrates the proven, reliable ANT Fresco Browser with ATI's market leading Xilleon 220 chipset.

This technology combination will enable manufacturers of DTV and other consumer electronics devices to benefit from a pre-integrated and cost-effective content-rendering solution, capable of reducing their time to market.

ANT Fresco Browser is at the heart of ANT's solution.

It is a proven, robust content engine delivered in a small footprint.

Fresco enables a wide range of services and information to be delivered to the consumer including video-on-demand, EPGs, games, online shopping, email and Internet browsing.

The Macromedia Flash Player 5 plug-in application enhances the ability of TV devices to deliver even more compelling and dynamic content.

Xilleon 220 integrates into a single chip all processor, graphics, video, audio, and I/O (input and output) capabilities needed in a set-top box or digital TV.

Included are a 300MHz MIPS CPU, dual-HD capable MPEG decoder, audio decoder, dual display engine, 2D and 3D graphics engine, conditional access, transport demultiplexers, PCI, USB and hard disk drive interfaces.
