Using a 1GHz MPC7447A Motorola G4 processor, the CK5 brings the latest technology to a single board computer designed for rugged environments The system memory in the CK5 offers 256 or 512Mbyte DDR SDRAM with ECC and features a 167MHz system bus

This SBC integrates the Marvell Discovery III MV64460 system controller bridge chip that combines high-performance system and communications peripherals on a single chip.

SBS Technologies' Ready Driver VxWorks software ensures that the CK5 also provides an easy upgrade path for those systems designed with the SBS Technologies' 500MHz CK3 SBC.

"The CK5 is designed for the demanding environments common in military and communication applications", said Wayne McGee, General Manager of the SBS Technologies Single Board Computer Design Centre in North Carolina.

"It offers robust extended temperature computing capabilities for critical systems in a cost-effective manner without requiring extensive development time".

"SBS engineers have designed this board with flexibility and high reliability to meet the challenging requirements of industrial life cycles".

Providing abundant I/O, the CK5 includes one Ethernet 10/100BaseTX port, two RS232 ports, four RS422 ports and two USB 2.0 ports.

For system designers needing additional I/O capability, the CK5 includes two PMC sites that support the IEEE1386.1 standard, allowing system designers high flexibility for expanding I/O capability with SBS Technologies' extensive line of I/O PMC modules.
