Aeroflex has restructured its business under a new corporate brand identity.

Aeroflex has restructured its business under a new corporate brand identity The company operates in two product-focused groups, the Aeroflex Test Solutions Group and the Aeroflex Microelectronic Solutions Group, consisting of a total of eight divisions

Many of the divisions were once independent companies that retained their names after being acquired by Aeroflex.

Now all divisions are united under a single, distinctive Aeroflex brand.

Each division will be identified by its city location.

"This is a significant step for us", said Len Borow, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Aeroflex.

"Our goal is to be one of the top five companies in the world providing test and microelectronic solutions.

To accomplish that goal, we need a single, unified brand used worldwide.

Many of our customers buy from several different Aeroflex divisions today.

The 'one Aeroflex' brand will create a more powerful and recognisable presence for us with all of our global customers".

"When we decided to unify all the divisions under a single brand, we asked many of our customers what it meant to do business with Aeroflex.

The results of the study were very compelling", continued Borow.

"Customers felt that one of our traits stood out above all others - our passion.

They said we differed from our competitors in our passion to solve our customers' unique problems.

We decided to adopt it as our theme, 'passion for performance'.

We are passionate about solving customers' problems, from creating the highest-performance products to how we fill orders and ship them on time.

It is this commitment to go 'all out' for our customers that unites Aeroflex".

Aeroflex is one of the fastest growing technology companies in the USA.

Listed in the Top 100 Fastest Growing Technology Companies by Business 2.0, Aeroflex is committed to continued growth through new product development, attention to the unique needs of its customers and strategic acquisitions.

In the third quarter of this fiscal year compared with Q3 one year ago, Aeroflex test and measurement sales grew by 124%, aided by the acquisition of IFR Systems (Aeroflex, Wichita and Aeroflex, Stevenage).

"Our strategy for test solutions is to support a product portfolio of bench test instruments as well as modules, systems and software", said Frank Carretta, President, Aeroflex Test Solutions.

"Over time, we intend to migrate to an industry-standard modular product platform for internally developed test products.

We also expect to continue to acquire test equipment companies that fit our market and customer profile".

The Aeroflex Test Solutions Group encompasses a broad variety of test instruments for the research and development, product validation, manufacturing test, and installation and maintenance markets worldwide.

The products in this group are focused in four areas: communications test - cellular, private mobile radio, telecommunications, avionics and military; signal sources - synthesisers, RF signal generators, signal analysers and phase noise testers; general-purpose test - spectrum analysers and microwave analysers; and systems - satellite, radar, ATE and PXI test systems, software, solutions and service.

"Aeroflex has a 20-year history of supplying semicustom and standard ICs, packaging and thin-film solutions, and custom circuit card assemblies for the most demanding space and defence applications", said John Buyko, President, Aeroflex Microelectronic Solutions.

"Going forward we intend to expand on our world leadership in radiation-hardened technology, thin-film interconnect and multichip modules to leverage our knowledge and manufacturing expertise.

Our mixed-signal standard products will now focus on applications in medical imaging, point-of-sale, cryptographic processors and secure network processors.

We will also continue to leverage our advantage as a fabless semiconductor supplier".

Aeroflex Microelectronic Solutions Group offers high-performance products and services in all these areas: rad-hard microelectronics; mixed-signal ics; thin-film interconnect; broadband microwave; power microelectronics; avionics microelectronics; and multichip modules.
