Half-brick convertors gain 60A
capability
Advanced Power Conversion has added a 60A version to its popular "half-brick" size DC/DC convertor range.
As part of its strategy to meet the challenges of providing high-current, low voltage power for the latest-generation semiconductor technology, Advanced Power Conversion has added a new 60A version to its popular "half-brick" size DC/DC convertor range At just 61.0 x 57.9 x 12.7mm, the industry standard "half brick" size package APC-H301 has typical efficiency of 87% for a full 60A load, which represents one of the leading conversion levels for its class

External supply promises long reliable life
Low-noise multipurpose power supply is fitted with field replaceable fan and air exhaust filters making it ideal for harsh and industrial environments.
DC/DC convertor is made for LED lighting
Wide input range DC/DC convertor provides a constant-current single output for powering a single LED or an array of up to nine devices.
Using a two-tier, open frame construction, the APC module has heat-dissipating components inside the unit thermally coupled to the metal baseplate to aid thermal management.
The advanced design and high quality components used in the APC-H301 helps the unit achieve an operating case temperature range of -40 to +100C and an MTBF of 1Mh.
The APC-H301 series also offers a comprehensive range of features to simplify integration into a complete power system.
These include low output noise and a fixed frequency of operation at 160kHz to help in noise sensitive applications plus a wide output voltage trim facility that enables the output to be adjusted between 80 and 110% of nominal.
Having the output fully isolated from the input, allows versatile polarity configurations and grounding connections that further enhances flexibility.
Along with a remote on/off function the module has a remote sense to minimise the effects of distribution losses by regulating the voltage at the remote-sense connections.
The modules are international safety agency approved to meet UL60950, EN60950 and CE mark requirements and incorporate advanced control, safety and protection features including overtemperature protection, output overvoltage protection and output overcurrent protection.
Featuring a wide input range of 36-75V DC the new modules are initially available with 2.5, 2.0, 1.8 and 1.5V DC outputs, which makes them particularly suitable for 48V distributed power architecture, including any systems that operate from a -48V battery source.
The APC-H301 series offers increased efficiency, higher power density and a substantial reduction in package size from other, earlier 60A DC/DC convertors.
