External supply promises long reliable life
Low-noise multipurpose power supply is fitted with field replaceable fan and air exhaust filters making it ideal for harsh and industrial environments.
DC/DC convertor is made for LED lighting
Wide input range DC/DC convertor provides a constant-current single output for powering a single LED or an array of up to nine devices.
Identical modules can be ganged together to provide a single high-current output.
For example, four APC-D2000 modules can be mounted into a 3U high APC-S2000 19in rack to deliver 8000W.
For low-profile applications, three APC-D2000 modules can be mounted in a 2U high 19in rack to provide up to 6000W.

DC/DC convertors meet military demands
Versatile, compact, high-specification modules are sold at very competitive prices that will meet many different customer requirements including military and avionics.
DC/DC combo is optimised for mobile power
The D1000 modular power solution from Powerstax offers up to 1000W of DC power from vehicle or other mobile or static DC power sources.
The multiple APC-S2000 racks can be stacked to deliver significantly higher output power.
All modules include active current sharing circuitry and can be configured for N+1 redundancy.
Rack configurations have been particularly attractive to telecomms basestation operators that need to convert existing 24V DC power systems up to 48V to power new equipment, particularly the new 2.5G and 3G wireless services.
This approach avoids the need to replace the existing 24V power system and equipment.
Other OEMs will use these convertors to convert 48V DC buses to 12V DC used for powering an intermediate bus architecture (IBA) system.
Internally, the APC-D2000 uses four of APC's 500W high density DC/DC "brick" convertors as basic building blocks.
This modular configuration allows the APC-D2000 to be very quickly configured to suit the customer's need for single or multiple outputs and for different output voltages.
The module's 90% typical efficiency reduces conversion power losses, lowering internal component temperatures and stresses, improving reliability and reducing external cooling requirements.
Lower power consumption reduces system electricity expense, lowering long-term ownership costs and addressing the growing "green" concerns of many groups and governments.
The APC-D2000 provides many monitoring and control functions, including power good and fan fail signals for each individual module plus a system fail signal.
Control functions include remote sense for highly accurate voltage regulation at the load, group output voltage adjustment of +/-10% and remote on/off.
All functions are accessible via a standard 25-pin D-type connector, which includes an always-on +5V "housekeeping" output.
A green LED provides a visual power good signal on the front panel.
Standard protection features include overload protection with non-latched shutdown and current limit with foldback to protect shorted wires from fusing.
The APC-D2000 modules include 300kHz fixed-frequency operation which simplifies the design of external noise filters.
The system meets Class B EMI and is designed to meet international regulatory standards.
APC-D2000 modules are built to order to meet customer specifications.
Prototype custom modules are usually configured within 4-6 weeks.
Pricing for a typical single output module is $1369 in 100-off quantities, FOB UK.
2U high 19in racks are $869 each for 100+ pieces.
