Front-end supply provides power for distribution
The APC-R3000 series of high-density front-end power supplies is intended for distributed power architectures in datacomms, telecomms and industrial systems.
The APC-R3000 series of high-density front-end power supplies is intended for distributed power architectures in datacomms, telecomms and industrial systems.
The APC-R3000 is configured as a very low profile 1U-high, 19in rack.
The rack accepts up to three power modules, each one rated at a maximum 1000W output power.
The modules are designed for power sharing and hot-swap, and can be used in N+1 redundant configuration.
Up to four 1U racks can be stacked for a total system capability of 12kW.
The APC-R3000 series includes wide range AC universal input with active power factor correction to ensure conformance to IEC1000-3-2 line harmonic requirements.
Various models deliver outputs of 24, 28, 48, 54.5 and 56.2V DC.
The series includes a full complement of protection, alarm and control features including AC power good, DC power good, remote sense, remote on/off and over temperature warning and protection.
I2Cbus signals can monitor or control output voltage, current, temperature and power supply ID.
"The R3000 series is our high power flagship, which can be quickly configured for systems ranging from 2 to 12kW.
Its modular design allows us to quickly modify it to suit the customer's specific need", explains Tim Worley, APC's CEO.
The standard APC-R3000 rack is priced at $233 in 100 quantity units and the power modules are $475 in similar quantities.
Delivery is typically under 3 weeks.
It is UL, CSA and TUV safety approved and carries the CE mark.
The series boasts a 400kh MTBF.
