Custom convertors reduce the risk
The Powerstax custom power range meets the needs of companies seeking to reduce their time to market, lessen capital investment and minimise the risk of PSU outsourcing.
Two new additions to the Advanced Power Conversion Powerstax custom power range are specifically designed to meet the needs of companies seeking to reduce their time to market, lessen capital investment and minimise the risk often associated with the outsourcing of their unique power supply requirements With a prototype supplied in just 8 weeks from APC's own ISO9001 approved design, development and production facility at Farnborough, England the Flexistax D750 is a 750W DC/DC power conversion module developed specifically for an automotive telecomms application, and the Flexistax D950 provides a similar specification at a higher power of 950W

External supply promises long reliable life
Low-noise multipurpose power supply is fitted with field replaceable fan and air exhaust filters making it ideal for harsh and industrial environments.
DC/DC convertor is made for LED lighting
Wide input range DC/DC convertor provides a constant-current single output for powering a single LED or an array of up to nine devices.
This rapid design and delivery time was achieved by experience, resources and the determination of the Powerstax team, plus clever leverage of the versatile Powerstax F501 full brick DC/DC convertors and other APC power components.
In a simple but efficient arrangement, two of APC's versatile Powerstax F501 full brick DC/DC convertors of 500W were coupled with a custom two-phase boost convertor and customer specified connectors to present a complete bespoke solution.
The patented high efficiency topology and extremely flexible design of the F501 DC/DC convertor modules means that standard items can be easily and quickly optimised for efficiency.
This ensures a high efficiency of 85% and a much lower level of heat dissipation, which allows the complete open construction unit (measuring 150 x 100mm with a maximum height 25mm including connections) to be placed on aluminium strata for cold wall mounting with no forced air cooling required.
The new Flexistax D950 and D750 have a wide and variable 11-36V DC input and a constant 28V DC output.
Using a simple, custom developed boost convertor integrated into the design provides the boost in input voltage when conditions require.
An increased power output of 950W resulted in an input current of over 100A for the Flexistax D950.
But the straightforward adaption of the existing concept still permitted an initial production delivery of just 12 weeks lead time.
The Flexistax D950 and D750 are ideal for use telecomms, automotive and industrial markets or any application where a rapid, cost-effective and efficient solution for high power DC/DC conversion is needed.
