A new digital visual interface (DVI) translator board provides an ultraslim, cost-effective means of connecting TFT LCDs to standard video interfaces.

The DV-SLIM from Apollo Display Technologies is a new digital visual interface (DVI) translator board that provides an ultraslim, cost-effective means of connecting TFT LCDs to standard video interfaces.

The DV-SLIM automatically converts DVI signals into TTL or LVDS signals for TFT LCDs.

It can be user-configured for LCDs from 5 to 46in diagonal with 6bit and 8bit colour depth and single-channel LVDS support.

Designed for universal use, the DV-SLIM can be configured by the user for LCDs from all major OEMs.

Function select switches on the board allow the user to configure the DV-SLIM for most standard backlight inverter/LCD module combinations from VGA to WXGA resolution.

The DV-SLIM has an ultra-low profile - only 5.5mm high - and is RoHS compliant.

Operating temperature is 0 to 70 C.

Board outline dimensions are approximately 7.9 x 9.9 x 0.8cm.

All DV-SLIM controller boards are backed by long term availability (3-5 years), product stability, compatibility of subsequent products, and expert technical support from Apollo.

Pricing for Apollo's new DV-SLIM DVI translator board starts at US $49.74 in production quantities (10k units).

Delivery is typically 2-3 weeks for samples.
