These boots are made for sealing
Two new sealing boots provide IP67 ingress protection for panel-mounting switches.
Apem Components, a leading manufacturer of high quality miniature and industrial switches, introduces two new sealing boots to its extensive line of durable sealing boots for switches.
These unique sealing boots feature a soft feel and provide stringent protection to IP67, allowing immersion under 1m of water for 30min without ingress.
Recommended applications include optical line termination units, control handles, vehicular intercom systems and talk switches.
These new sealing boots are designed for front panel mounting next to joysticks.
The smaller of the two, U2252, can be mounted on the standard levers of Apem's 12000, 3500, 3600 and 600 toggle switches, while the larger one, U2197, is intended for Apem's X2243 long lever of the 3600 and 600 series.
These sealing boots can be fitted to more than 10,000 switch part numbers.
Each boot is supplied with a sealing ring or washer to provide for maximum protection.
Neoprene models are available in black, and silicon models are offered in a wide variety of colours, such as black, white, green, red and transparent.
Each colour represents a particular function: red signals danger, green can indicate priority or absence of danger, white offers better visibility in semi-darkness, and transparent boots allow visual access to the marking, colour or position of the actuator on which they are mounted.
Additional options include nickel-plated or matte black finished brass.
