Distributors to answer Asian demands for DFM

Aprio Technologies has extended its global reach in the design-for-manufacturing arena with the addition of distributors in Japan and Asia.

Aprio Technologies has extended its global reach in the design-for-manufacturing arena with the addition of distributors in Japan and Asia.

Preparing for what the company hopes will be a successful product rollout, Aprio has chosen the SC Hightech division of Sumisho Electronics to distribute its products in Japan, and the Magellan Discovery Corp of Taiwan will be responsible for distributing Aprio products to the rest of Asia, either directly or through affiliates.

The clamour for new DFM solutions worldwide is escalating as IC manufacturers move to smaller geometries without a corresponding improvement in design and manufacturing tools.

"Our products will soon be in the hands of the most advanced IC manufacturers in the world", said Randy Smith, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Aprio.

"Consequently, only the most experienced and knowledgeable team would do and we have that with SC Hightech and Magellan Discovery Corp".

Yasuyuki Abe, President of Sumisho Electronics, noted: "By adding Aprio's solution to our portfolio, SC Hightech can offer new technology in an area that is fast becoming the most critical to our customers' success".

Aprio also announced it will maintain local applications engineering support teams in Asia.
