Foerster is already well acquainted with the APT range having joined the company from Pro Audio Systems, which has been APT's German distributor since 1993.
As Managing Director of PAS he was instrumental in establishing APT codec technology and in particular the company's leading-edge compression algorithm apt-X by establishing the groundbreaking Open Audio Network, which connected post-production users throughout the country.
Foerster's extensive background in post-production - he was an engineer before joining PAS - gives him unique insight into the needs and requirements of the WorldNet Oslo's customer base.
Jon McClintock, APT's Commercial Director, says: "We are delighted that Hartmut has joined the company at such an important moment in our future development".
"His market knowledge, technical expertise, passion and sales experience will help to drive the further development of the WorldNet Oslo, while his ability to liaise with customers, sales staff and our R and D team will ensure that we continue to build optimal solutions for mission-critical broadcast applications".
Commenting on his appointment, Foerster adds: "After a long and fruitful relationship with APT, I am delighted to join the company as a full-time team member".
"The opportunities presented by the WorldNet Oslo audio codec are very exciting".
"I see this codec becoming the unit of choice of all major broadcasters for contribution and distribution of stereo and 5.1 audio applications, and I look forward to playing a part in making this a reality".
