The IMserv cabinet from APW Electronics is optimised for housing servers, UPS and associated active electronics in networking applications.
Enclosure designed specifically for networking
IMnet, the new floor-standing cabling cabinet from APW Electronics, is the first enclosure to be designed specifically for the networking market, breaking away from the legacy of the electronic rack
Typically located between the APW UPS and the powered equipment, MasterSwitch enables systems to be sequentially powered up on boot, avoiding high inrush currents; conversely, in the event of a power failure, it can shut down the equipment in priority order, extending server run time when on battery back-up by switching off ancillary equipment.
Fully integrated into the host network, it can be accessed and controlled using any standard browser through the intuitive, low bandwidth GUI, security enabled to HTTP 1.0 password standard, either over the local Intranet or remotely via the Internet.
When used with an APW UPS it is intrinsically SNMP enabled, using the versatile SmartSlot expansion module capability to provide the Web capability and SNMP management interface on a single plug-in board.
A built-in Ethernet port gives direct network connection; if Bootstrap Protocol (bootp) is enabled on the host network, a TCP/IP address is assigned automatically.
Alternatively, an RS232 port enables it to be controlled via a remote terminal for out-of-band or offline configuration and diagnostics.
Each of the eight power outlets can be switched without affecting any of the other sockets, and the total load rating is 10A @ 230VAC.
