For the first time, customers can use Alpha Wire's proprietary software and comprehensive web presence to build their own custom cable solutions - quickly and easily.

Following a step-by-step interactive procedure, users specify the exact cable they need, even down to the colour, and Alpha Wire engineers will send a quotation by the next business day for fast turn production.

For convenience, users can also create a password-protected library of up to 50 designs that are stored online and accessible 24/7 for immediate reordering and fast cable design changes.

The software guides users through the design process in one of two ways.

In many cases, a custom cable is based on an existing Alpha product, such as the company's industry standard Xtra-Guard series of high performance electronic cables and flexible cables.

Users select the appropriate Alpha Wire product by entering a part number, or via the website's extensive search capabilities and then modify cable construction (cable type, temperature, voltage, regulatory standards) conductor construction (number of elements, AWG, insulation type etc) and jacketing, shielding, packaging requirements.

Throughout the interactive form, online help is just a single click away.

All specifications for a particular Alpha Wire product are shown and customers simply change whatever features they like to create a process-matched, one-of-a-kind cable.

Users can also start the cable design from scratch, specifying all essential parameters as requested by the software in a "cannot miss", logical process.

In both cases, customers are able to immediately print the finished specifications and incorporate them into the bill of materials.
