ART, Advanced Recognition Technologies, has signed an agreement with Mitsubishi Electric Telecom Europe (METE), the sixth largest, and most prominent manufacturer of handsets worldwide The global agreement calls for the integration of ART's smARTspeak and smARTspeak CS speech recognition solutions into the Eclipse and Sirius models of METE's Trium mobile phone family, expected to hit the market this month

ART's smARTspeak software empowers users, enabling calling a person from the address book of their phone by simply saying the person's name.

smARTspeak is a well proven noise immune product, which allows for true hands-free operation.

A further enhancement to smARTspeak, the CS version enables continuous speech digit dialling.

Speaker-dependent, it allows users to dial a number by simply saying the string of numbers - with no pause between digits.

ART's smARTspeak CS is the only true language-independent continuous digit dialling technology available in the market today.

ART's powerful speech recognition engines have been licensed to dozens of global leaders, and are in widespread use in cellular handsets, smartphones and PDAs.

Through these alliances, ART has integrated its successful speech recognition technologies into a wide variety of wireless terminals.

Offering the most convenient way for users to interact with mobile communication devices, both smARTspeak and smARTspeak CS are easy to use, enabling users to start benefiting immediately from rapid and reliable hands-free mobile phone operation.

Viet Mailam, R and D VP-Director of Mitsubishi Electric Telecom Europe, said, "We are confident that the addition of ART's innovative and powerful speech recognisers will further improve our competitive edge.

The strong combination of features, including digit and name dialling, and the fact that the smARTspeak features are so easy to use make them a welcome addition to every consumer contemplating which mobile phone to buy".

Eran Aharonson, President of ART, said: "This new contract further demonstrates our ability to answer the call of the cell phone leaders, with a "natural" enhancement to their product offerings.

As our smARTspeak and smARTspeak CS are language-independent, they will be giving METE an embedded software-only solution for their transcontinental customer base".
