Hitachi Software is to deploy ART's market-proven multilingual handwriting recognition solution on its newly introduced range of Electronic Whiteboards Created for interactive presentations and data conferencing in the corporate market, ART's recognition solution enables users to write on a whiteboard in their own natural handwriting, in their own language, and have it appear as text in any chosen application

Thanks to ART's superior software, this is a concurrent, multilingual application.

"Hitachi is pleased to add ART's handwriting recognition functions to its new StarBoard Electronic Whiteboards", said Yutaka Usuda, the president of Hitachi Software Engineering Europe.

"Their best of breed technology is in line with our total commitment to excellence in every aspect of production".

"We expect that StarBoard users will be delighted with the increased range of handwriting functions now offered by StarBoard thanks to the incorporation of our state of the art recognition technology", said Nir Ben-Dor, ART's Director of Sales and Business Development, Europe.

"We're confident the unique multilingual features will especially enhance Hitachi Software's penetration of its whiteboard into the international market".

Especially designed for the increasingly tight processing-power environment of mass-market electronics, ART's software-only technology is the ideal solution for a multitude of applications.

ART's fully integrated solution is a complete word or sentence recognizer that seamlessly integrates case-differentiated letters, numbers, symbols and punctuation with no additional operational actions required.

Among the fastest and most convenient technologies available, it is self-trainable and adjustable for special handwriting needs - and can simultaneously work in any number of languages.

'Noise robust', it intuitively accepts inaccurate or 'trembling' script, and provides continuous on-the-fly recognition, even when one letter is written over another.

With no new characters or symbols to learn, ART's solution demands no user training, but intuitively recognise user's own natural handwriting.
