The proprietary Redundant Contact compliant interconnect technology is now available in volume for custom applications.

The proprietary Redundant Contact compliant interconnect technology is now available in volume for custom applications "Since first developing the Redundant Contact for high-speed IC testing applications, we have received many requests for individual contacts from engineers building custom interfaces in a variety of industries", says Ardent Concepts founder and President Gordon Vinther

"Now that the product has proven to provide robust performance characteristics in production test environments, it seems natural to offer the solution across broader market segments".

"Our core competency is our contact, which offers unparalleled AC performance in a single piece, scalable design".

"There are many applications outside of the IC test market where Redundant Contact technology can be used as a drop in replacement for spring pins, fuzz buttons, conductive elastomers, as well as other interconnect technologies".

"We are already providing contacts to customers for military/aerospace applications, and see great potential in electronic portables, telecommunications and high-end computing".

"The excellent reliability and unmatched AC performance of the Redundant Contact make it an ideal solution for any compliant interconnect requirement".

Redundant Contacts are available immediately from Ardent in 0.5, 0.75, 1 and 1.27mm pitch designs.

The company provides detailed instructions and contact cavity design specifications, along with mechanical and electrical data, on its website.

Custom interface designs and solutions are available as drop in replacements on existing interconnect applications.

Since inception, Ardent Concepts has focused on the emerging package technologies dominating the wireless device space.

With insertion loss of less than -1dB at 24 GHz, the Redundant Contact is ideally suited for testing and mating of RF parts for consumer electronics, LAN/WAN and other wireless (Wi-Fi) applications.
