Shrinking serial EEPROMs
Microchip has added 32, 64, 128 and 256Kbit densities to its existing range of 8-lead MSOP serial EEPROMs and now offers the highest density I2CT devices in the smallest available standard package.

World's first serial EEPROM supporting ACR SIG
Microchip has announced the world's first serial EEPROM supporting the Advanced Communications Riser Special Interest Group (ACR SIG) specification.
This is 50% smaller than the popular 8-lead SOIC package and 23% smaller than an 8-lead TSSOP package.
At 1.1mm in height, the MSOP is also 29% lower in profile than the SOIC package.
Designed using Microchip's advanced PMOS electrically erasable cell process technology, these miniaturised versions of Microchip's 24LC32A and 24LC64 series offer designers an unprecedented level of flexibility in space-constrained applications, making the devices an ideal choice for a wide range of portable, hand-held, telecommunications, computing and automotive designs.
For low operating voltage requirements, the 24LCXX EEPROM family can operate at voltages down to 2.5V and the 24AAXX family can operate down to 1.8V.
With an active current of less than 1mA and a standby current of less than 1uA, the 24LCXX and 24AAXX devices are ideal for most designs where battery power is at a premium.
