Serial EEPROMs transfer data faster
Microchip has expanded its SPI serial EEPROM product line with two high-density (256Kbit), high-speed (up to 10MHz) devices, the 25AA256 and 25LC256.
Microchip has expanded its SPI serial EEPROM product line with two high-density (256Kbit), high-speed (up to 10MHz) devices, the 25AA256 and 25LC256.
The SPIbus interface provides a simple connection to microcontrollers and supports a higher data transfer rate than other serial protocols.
The 25LC256 operates over a 2.5 to 5.5V range, whereas the 25AA256 device operates over an extended 1.8 to 5.5V range.
The devices are available in industrial (-40 to +85C) and extended (-40 to +125C) temperature ranges.
These devices feature industry-leading reliability, including 200-year data retention and one million erase/write cycle endurance.
Lead (Pb)-free package options for the devices include standard PDIP, SOIC and TSSOP packages and the low-profile (0.9mm) DFN package.
Microchip's SEEVAL 32 Serial EEPROM designer's kit supports development with these devices.
In addition, for robust system design, Microchip's free Total Endurance software enables engineers to easily design serial EEPROM applications and model the expected life of the application.
Samples are available today with volume production scheduled for August.
