Microchip has developed a web-based simulation tool for power-management applications.

Microchip has developed a web-based simulation tool for power-management applications Known as the Mindi simulation tool, the new software enables designers to quickly generate detailed circuit diagrams and specify associated passive components for a variety of power-supply and battery-charger applications

Circuits developed on the web using the Mindi tool can be downloaded to a PC and ported directly into system diagrams.

Mindi is available for free on Microchip's website.

The Mindi simulation tool was designed for engineers of all experience levels.

The software assists designers in choosing system components by recommending a wide range of Microchip PIC microcontrollers and analogue products, based on the circuit.

Being web-based, the Mindi simulation tool provides real-time updates ensuring that the latest circuit developments and products are provided.

Applications supported by the Mindi simulation tool include power supplies such as DC/DC convertors for handheld electronics devices, and battery chargers for rechargeable battery-powered devices.
