Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team May 19, 2008

The temperature control function for DC fans uses a built in thermistor to decrease or increase fan speed in relation to ambient temperature.

Arun Components has released the Activa range of fans with special monitoring functions.

Built-in rotation detection or frequency generation are available on the DC and the majority of the AC fan range.

The temperature control function for DC fans uses a built in thermistor to decrease or increase fan speed in relation to ambient temperature.

This is intended for environments where noise is a consideration.

Lower ambient temperature will result in a slower running and a quieter fan.

Fans for special environments are also available; with high-temperature versions and models with IP54 and IP55 ratings.

The fans range in size from 15mm2 to 630mm in diameter and are available with different air flow speeds and with ball, sleeve or mixed bearings.

Activa also manufacture a range of AC/DC cross-flow and centrifugal fans.
