Arrow has expanded its family of graphics displays with a range of low-power extended-temperature chip-on-glass modules that integrate a high-contrast 128 x 64 dot LCD with a Samsung driver IC.

Arrow Electronics has expanded its family of graphics displays with a range of low power, extended temperature chip-on-glass (COG) modules that integrate a high-contrast 128 x 64 dot LCD with a Samsung driver IC.

The new TECDIS COG128x64 LCD modules are based on high-contrast FSTN technology and will simplify design, save space, reduce component count and lower power consumption in applications ranging from handheld test equipment to laboratory instrumentation.

Each module provides an effective viewing area of 61 x 34mm, while LCD profiles are as low as 2.2mm.

All modules are rated for an extended -20 to +70C temperature range.

Available in transflective, reflective and transmissive formats and operating down to 2.4V, the TECDIS COG128x64 modules use a COG Samsung ICS6B0724 IC to deliver all of the functionality needed to drive the 128 x 64 dot display.

This IC, which drives the display with a 1/65 duty cycle, offers the designer a choice of both serial and parallel interfaces.

Transflective modules in the new family are available without a backlight or with a yellow LED backlight depending on application requirements.

The transmissive modules in the new series are supplied with a white LED backlight.
