For the second year running Arrow Electronics has received a European award from Philips Semiconductors for shipping in excess of one billion of the manufacturer's general application discrete devices.
The Philips Semiconductors "GA Billionaires Club" award is based on sales of discretes such as standard transistors, power transistors, diodes, rectifiers, and other general application devices.
A 17% increase in sales of these devices secured Arrow's continued membership of the Billionaires Club.
The award follows the recent announcement that in 2002 Philips was again Arrow Northern Europe's top selling franchise.
Following the presentation of the award, Chris McAneny, Marketing Director for Arrow Northern Europe, commented: "After entering the GA Billionaires Club for the first time last year, we have managed to further increase sales of Philips general application discretes to further strengthen our position this time round.
The award reinforces the importance of the Philips franchise and our position as the company's leading northern European distributor".
