Mono and colour LCD modules are all green

An Arrow Electronics (UK) product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Sep 24, 2003

A new range of Hitachi LCD modules are produced using lead-free solder.

Arrow's display business is supporting northern European manufacturers in complying with forthcoming lead-free legislation by offering Hitachi LCD modules that have been produced using lead-free solder.

Arrow is the leading distributor of Hitachi LCD modules in the UK, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, and carries the full range of mono STN, colour STN, and colour TFT products.

All these modules are now produced using lead-free solder, in accordance with the European Union directives on Waste and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS).

These directives determine that any electronic product sold in the European market will have to use lead-free solder from 1st July 2006.

The Hitachi LCD module range available from Arrow in northern Europe covers screen sizes from 3.6 to 15in and resolutions from 256 x 64 to 1024 x 768 pixes.

The use of lead-free solder does not impact on the performance of these products, and all display specifications and operating characteristics remain unchanged.
