Arrow Electronics has received a European award from Philips for shipping 1.5 billion of the manufacturer's general application discrete devices.

Arrow Electronics has received a European award from Philips for shipping 1.5 billion of the manufacturer's general application (GA) discrete devices This is the third year that Arrow Electronics has received a "GA Billionaires Club" award for shipping in excess of one billion GA products

The latest award relates to sales of standard transistors, power transistors, diodes, rectifiers, and other Philips GA devices during the 2003 sales period.

Presenting the award to Germano Fanelli, the president of Arrow Europe, Pascal Langlois, Philips' Senior Vice President for Channel Management and Multimarket Semiconductors, commented: "Arrow is among Philips Semiconductors' top customers in the world, and we see this strategic relationship going from strength to strength".

Chris McAneny, Marketing Director for Arrow Northern Europe, adds: "This is the third year in a row that Arrow has received an award for sales of Philips GA semiconductor devices, reinforcing the importance of the Philips franchise and our position as a leading European distributor".
