Multilayer capacitors in 1808 and 1812 case sizes are certified to IEC384-14/IEC60950/EN132400 for power and telecomms applications.

Arrow has extended its EMI and RF filtering product portfolio with the addition of Yageo's new SC series of multilayer capacitors in 1808 and 1812 case sizes certified to IEC384-14/IEC60950/EN132400 for power and telecomms applications.

The main applications for the new Yageo devices are as X (line-to-line) or Y (line-to-ground) capacitors according to IEC definitions.

All feature a dielectric withstand voltage of 1500V AC at 60Hz and all carry ratings for operation at 250V AC.

Impulse voltage requirements are a key specification for power and telecomms applications.

X1 capacitors possess a 4000V rating, Y2 has 5000V and X2 2500V.

The requirements for usage in X and Y configurations cover capacitors rated less than 1.0uF, 250V AC and 60Hz.

They are used for filtering EMI/RFI in AC voltage, across-the-line, line-bypass and antenna coupling applications.

SC series capacitors are available with industry-standard NPO and X7R characteristics in 1808 and 1812 case sizes.

The NPO devices range in value from 2pF upwards up to 470pF; X7R types start at 150pF and include 1.5nF, depending on the safety rating.

Specific uses include power supplies, computer networks, digital modems, motors, fans, pumps, facsimile, telephones, radios, televisions, power tools and similar appliance circuits where breakdown of the capacitor would result in a risk of fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
