IEEE medals for technical personnel

The three Artesyn Technologies' personnel who have won Third Millennium Medals are:- Dr.Fred Lee, a Director of Artesyn Technologies.
Dr.Lee is the founder and Director of the Virginia Power Electronics Centre (VPEC), which is one of the largest university-based power electronics research centres in the USA.
Dr.Lee holds 19 US patents and has published more than 120 journal articles and over 300 technical papers in conference proceedings.
He is also Director of the Centre for Power Electronics Systems (CPES), a National Science Foundation engineering research centre whose participants include five universities and over 100 corporations.
Robert White, an Engineering Director at Artesyn Technologies, with specific responsibility for the company's standard range of high power DC/DC converter products.
Bob White has an extensive background in power supply design, and is a highly regarded expert in distributed power systems for electronic equipment.
He has been actively involved with the IEEE Power Electronics Society for a number of years - including serving two terms as the society's Technical Vice President - and has chaired two IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conferences (APECs).
Bob White holds two US patents, and has numerous technical papers to his credit, including 14 published under APEC proceedings.
Tom Wilson, Chief Engineer at Artesyn Technologies.
Tom Wilson has worked extensively in the area of power supply simulation for the last 20 years.
Power supply simulation is a key tool for reducing product development time-scales, driving down costs and improving design integrity.
The awards were presented during the 31st Power Electronics Specialists Conference, which was held at the Power Electronics Research Centre on the campus of the University of Ireland, in Galway.
