It believes that it has defences to the suit filed by Power-One, intends to assert them vigorously and expects to prevail.

This lawsuit and the accompanying press release by Power-One appear, in Artesyn's opinion, to be a baseless attempt to slow the adoption of the PMBus protocol through the courts instead of through technical merit.
While Power-One has chosen to invest in a proprietary system architecture, Artesyn believes the future of digital power management is better served with an open architecture such as the PMBus protocol, which has already gained significant support from numerous power supply and semiconductor companies, as well as system OEMs.
