Astec Power reckons its new line of ultra-low-profile DC/DC convertors in open-frame, surface-mount packages leads the industry with its streamlined contours Offering five different models with single-output choices from 1.0 to 5.0V DC, the new products can deliver 10W (AUM and AUD Series), 15W (AUG Series), 20W (AUG Series) and 30W (AUK Series) with an input voltage of 48V DC and 19.8W (AVC Series) with input voltages of 3.3 or 5V DC

With heights from 4.2 to 7.7mm depending on the model, the compact units offer flexibility for mounting on either the top or bottom of circuit boards to accommodate reflow soldering.
The small devices are well suited for communications applications such as optical, wireless and broadband where component heights are a concern.
For further space savings, the modules meet CISPR22, Class A conducted and Radiated EMI standards without adding any external filter circuitry.
Operating temperatures range from -40 to +85C - depending on the model and the cooling method.
Efficiencies range from 88 to 93%.
The new models also offer alarm output (power good signal, not available on AVC Series), remote on/off, parallel operation (not available on AVC Series) and output voltage adjust (only available on AVC Series) as well as protection from overvoltage, overcurrent and low voltage.
All models except the AVC Series provide isolation up to 1500V DC.
The new products meet worldwide safety and performance standards including listings from UL and CE.
Samples are available now with prices starting at $23 for 10W AUM models.
