Using the same compact open-frame package as the 25 and 40W APC Series models, the devices feature an industry-standard, surface-mount (SMT) footprint only 33 x 13.5mm.
Only 8.9mm high, the devices are ideal for use in environments with the most restrictive space requirements and can often serve as drop-in replacements for existing APC Series applications that have increased power requirements.
Competitive pricing and compact size allow the new APC18 models to replace discrete designs using less board space and minimising the time-to-market for DSP and ASIC applications.
The flexible single-output APC18 devices simplify purchasing decisions with adjustable external resistor programming that enables a single part number to provide a selected output voltage from 0.75 to 5.5V DC with regulation to within 3%.
With the wide input voltage ranges, these devices are well suited for a variety of POL applications.
For added flexibility, each unit has its own enable pin to allow for sequential activation.
Additionally, every unit has built-in overcurrent and overtemperature protection, with auto-recovery from any protective shutdown once a fault is removed.
The wide operating temperature range of -40 to +85C makes the APC series suitable for use in extreme environments as well as for applications such as data and telecommunications.
The devices are also well suited for instrumentation, internetworking devices such as hubs and routers, test equipment and any applications where that rapid time to market is a priority.
Priced from $11.50 in OEM quantities, samples are available now.
