A new 44-strong range of tough, IP67-compliant D-sub connectors backed by a package of accessories has been added by Abacus Polar, offering the designer of industrial systems a huge range of options for protected interconnection based on an industry standard.

Available in five sizes ranging from nine to 50 contact pins, the new Harting D-sub connectors are fully dustproof and protected against temporary immersion in water.

According to Abacus Polar, they are ideal for industrial machinery, process control, instrumentation, and ruggedised or mobile equipment for outdoors use.

The new Harting connectors are available with metal or plastic rear mounting plates for PCB mounting, or without mounting plates for cable applications.

Contact termination styles include a choice of straight or angled solder pins for the PCB styles, and turned solder cups for cable mounting.

Matching plastic hoods, locking screws and sealing rubbers for all connector types round off the product family, providing a complete solution for a wide range of demanding applications.

With a working current of 5A and contact resistance below 10mohm for straight contacts, these high-performance connectors are equally suited to signalling and to powering peripherals from a main system.

The frame and insulator consist of UL94V0 nonflammable, reinforced thermoplastic, and silicone is used for waterproofing.
