Aspex Technology has expanded its operations into the USA, opening its first office in Mountain View, and appointing Jim L Apfel as senior VP of corporate development.

Aspex Technology has expanded its operations into the USA, opening its first office in Mountain View, and appointing Jim L Apfel as senior VP of corporate development The creation of a California office - and subsequent appointment of a permanent US representative - is seen by Aspex' management as the next logical step in the company's rapid growth

The company, which earlier this year announced the delivery of right-first-time first silicon for its VLSI Associative String Processor (VASP), is developing its US operational base in time for the introduction of its 'Linedancer' chip later this year.

Apfel, who has close to 18 years of experience in management, worldwide sales and marketing, strategic planning and business develop, will report to John Lancaster, chief executive officer of Aspex Technology.

He will be responsible for establishing Aspex' presence in the United States, along with identifying and managing strategic business relationships, early customer engagements and fund raising.
