Assembleon's release of an enhanced Topaz-X component mounter further strengthens the company's position in the medium-volume SMT assembly marketplace.
Invoking an advanced line optimiser, which in seconds equalises the loads on the machines, the software delivers balanced and optimised programs maximising production speed, output and flexibility.
Optimisation takes into account machine-specific requirements in relation to feeder type numbers, identical component reels, and fixed feeder or nozzle setups.
PPS Pro has the flexibility to support single-board or 'family' optimisations.
Its open architecture gives PPS Pro the versatility to accept all CAD files and even to include non-Assembleon machines in the optimisation and machine programming process.
PPS Pro minimises line downtime by working offline, and supports error-free line setup by generating factory floor assembly aids such as feeder positioning instructions.
Furthermore, in addition to maximising line output, increasing changeover efficiency and boosting quality, PPS Pro also estimates line cycle time to assist production scheduling.
With the launch of PPS Pro Version 7.0, the software can now be applied on lines incorporating the recently launched GEM-XII and FCM Multiflex mounters, bringing all current Assembleon GEM, FCM and and ACM machines within its scope.
Also extending the applicability of PPS Pro, Version 7.0 supports Assembleon's twin tape feeders, introduced to enhance the feeder ratio of its machines, as well as RADDS wafer feeders, which open up semiconductor applications.
Module assembly (eg Bluetooth) is accelerated by new facilities for user-defined grouping of fiducials and bad marks to reduce vision-processing time.
Introduced in this new version, floating licence support provides network accessibility for programming flexibility and convenience.
PPS Pro Version 7.0 is Windows NT and 2000 compatible.
Current users of Version 6.x of the software can upgrade to Version 7.0.
