System places components accurately
Assembleon's AX-201 places 01005 components, fine-pitch devices and odd-form components up to 130 x 79mm with machine vision and laser alignment ensuring accurate board and component positioning.
Assembleon's AX-201 places many different types of components with an accuracy better than 20 microns at single-digit defects per million The AX-201 Pick and Place machine shares a single platform that integrates seamlessly in virtually any production environment

Platform boosts placement density
With a space productivity of 20,000 components per hour per square metre the MC-12 is reckoned to be the most productive pick-and-place machine on the market.
Pick and place machines expand EMS provider
Electronics manufacturing solutions provider Mara Technologies has bought another four Assembleon pick and place machines as a base for its latest expansion.
It places 01005 components, fine-pitch devices and odd-form components up to 130 x 79mm with machine vision and laser alignment ensuring accurate board and component positioning.
Designed for short product lifecycles, fast time to market and low operational cost, the AX-201 is suitable for both stand-alone and line-balancing applications with the AX-301 or AX-501.
It has a placement rate of up to 18,000 components per hour, making it suitable for small batches, new product introductions, prototypes and modules.
The placement heads use the exact placement force needed, programmable from 0.9 to 40N.
First-pass yield performance is world class thanks to the placement accuracy and repeatability specifications.
Product changeovers take less than six minutes to maximise uptime, aided by offline feeder setup and offline placement program creation and optimisation.
Trolleys allow tape replenishment during production to ensure continuity.
The feeders are configurable to hold up to 212 pick positions and 376 JEDEC trays.
As a modular system, the AX-201 shares common user interface, feeders, trolleys and placement heads with other A-series pick and place machines, making it easy to integrate into scalable lines to meet varying manufacturing needs.
The A-series is designed for medium and large batch production in both high and low product mix environments.
In a line with Assembleon's AX-501 or AX-301, the AX-201 takes care of the fine-pitch and odd-form components without compromising placement rate.
