Processors combine to boost infrastructure power
A new dual-processor PowerPC PCI Mezzanine Card is aimed at telecomms infrastructure applications.
Mezzanine card lends Pentium power to telecomms
The hot-swappable KosaiPM gives telecomms OEMs an easy way to add processing power to AdvancedTCA or proprietary systems equipped with Advanced Mezzanine Card expansion bays.
The PrPMC based system and PrPMC-Carrier board are standard solutions that provide expansion capability as applications demand increased performance, memory and PCI bandwidth.
They are compatible with PMC and processor PMC standards and based on the high performance MPC7410 PowerPC microprocessor.
With these building blocks, OEMs can free up valuable engineering resources, allowing more time to focus on their value-add solutions to set them apart in the marketplace.
The PrPMC-Carrier board provides a flexible off-the-shelf method for rapidly deploying and developing processor PMC-based products.
According to Mike Barry, senior vice president of engineering and development at T/R Systems, "The PrPMC-Carrier board coupled with the PrPMC800 is moving our high-end printing solutions to market rapidly.
The 64bit and 66MHz PCI bus combined with the MPC7410 PowerPC packs the power we need to meet the high data bandwidth requirements of today's engine technology into the small space that's available".
The PrPMC-Carrier board includes four expansion PMC sites, dual Ethernet ports and 33/66 MHz support.
The PrPMC-Carrier with the PrPMC800 is currently sampling and expected to be available at an expected one-off price of GBP1525.
The PrPMC based system, with a maximum of four expansion PMC sites, incorporates the PrPMC carrier board and the PrPMC800.
This complete system allows OEMs to quickly develop and deploy digital imaging, network storage, industrial automation, medical and telecommunications applications that best fit their exact performance and I/O requirements.
The PrPMC based system includes the PrPMC-Carrier board, optional Linux operating system support, SCSI, printer and serial ports as well as entry level graphics capability.
The PrPMC based system is currently sampling and expected to be available at a one-off price of GBP1835.
