The HXEB100 supports the Vector Signal Image Processing Libraries (VSIPL) standard developed by application developers, government laboratories and equipment manufacturers.
These portable libraries have been tuned to enable the HXEB100 to efficiently execute FFTs, filtering and convolution, and vector and matrix computations, which are the basis of imaging and sonar/radar applications.
"The makers of equipment designed for extremely high power and data intensive tasks are also demanding more flexibility from their embedded computing engines - they want to add-in performance and functionality as their application demands change", said Greg Novak, Product Marketing Manager, Motorola Computer Group.
"So, the HXEB100 is not only a compact, top-of-the line computer engine but is also architected to easily scale performance - the ideal platform for intensive data processing now and into the future.
The HXEB100 is compatible with both 1 and 4U platforms so will easily fit in most CT, X-ray, radar, and embedded applications".
Standard features on the HXEB100 include: dual or single MPC7455 microprocessor for optimum imaging performance; up to 2Mbyte of L3 cache per processor providing fast memory access; up to 2Gbyte of ECC memory to quickly process large imaging files; eight DMA channels enable efficient transfer of data while offloading the CPU; up to five 66MHz, 64bit capable PCI slots for I/O and future add-in processing; optional EIDE and USB for popular I/O and cost effective storage; optional standards-based VSIPL support for imaging performance and portability; and optional real-time Linux.
The HXEB100 is available now with a single-unit list price starting at Eur 3987, GBP 2435 or US $3525.
