Bodacion Technologies is using a Motorola CPX1204 CompactPCI system as the embedded computing platform in Hydra, its secure web services appliance.
Using the highly reliable CPX1200 series helps Bodacion reduce both the number of failures its web service appliance customers encounter and the overall repair time if failures occur.
Hydra, available for immediate deployment, delivers a new standard of reliability and security in web services appliances enabling an organisation's technology group to shift its focus from maintaining network operations to using technology to achieve business objectives.
This can save resources in areas from training costs to costs associated with security breaches.
In addition to the current installation at a financial institution, orders from other commercial interests and federal agencies are expected in the next year.
"With more and more companies reporting security breaches that result in financial losses and theft of proprietary information, our Hydra system provides an unprecedented layer of security from internal and external threats", said Brad Hessel, CEO of Bodacion Technologies.
"We chose to work with Motorola because the CPX1204 provides the upgradeability, resistance to thermal effects and the robustness needed so we can stay one step ahead of the competition".
"Motorola is pleased to be part of an innovative web services solution that has successfully demonstrated resistance to hacking, viruses and denial of service (DoS) attacks, while also offering performance and ease of installation", said Don Dingee, Defence and Aerospace Market Segment Manager, Motorola Computer Group.
"Bodacion's Hydra has significant potential in protecting Internet services as part of homeland security efforts.
Our CPX1200 family of products has been successful in telecom and central office applications, and this new application in Hydra is exciting for Motorola".
Designed for NEBS and ETSI environments, the CPX1200 family of carrier-grade CompactPCI platforms delivers performance, flexibility and serviceability for limited-rack-space telecommunications and central office applications.
The 3U footprint of the CPX1204 is optimised for front- and rear-access equipment frames and provides I/O density in limited-space environments.
The CPX1204 design and architecture allows OEMs to integrate their own level of added value and maintain control of the final platform solution.
