Predictive analysis tool developer Atrenta has announced the second closing of Series A $11.2 million equity investment.

Venrock Associates and TL Ventures, two of the most established venture capital firms in the USA, co-led the round.

Concurrent with this round of financing, Massoud Entekhabi from TL Ventures will join Atrenta's board of directors comprising of Brian Ascher of Venrock Associates, Mike Hackworth, chairman of Cirrus Logic and Ajoy Bose, CEO of Atrenta.

The funding will allow Atrenta to expand its research and development capabilities and enlarge its marketing, technical support and sales force.

Atrenta's SpyGlass suite of tools accelerates design of electronic circuits and semiconductors with a novel predictive analysis technique, which enforces downstream requirements upfront and minimises design iterations.

"Atrenta offers a very compelling value proposition to IC designers by providing tools that help them achieve higher quality and shorter development time", said Massoud Entekhabi, Managing Director at TL Ventures.

"The management team is an experienced, entrepreneurial group of professionals with EDA industry experience and a rich skill-set of technical knowledge".

"We are very pleased to have TL Ventures and Venrock as our investors", said Dr Ajoy Bose, Atrenta's chairman, president and CEO.

"Their investment is a strong endorsement of our strategy and lends credibility to SpyGlass, our innovative tool that accelerates ASIC and SoC design with a unique predictive analysis technique.

TL Ventures and Venrock have a strong record of success and will help lead us in achieving our long-term goals and vision".
