Atrenta Chairman, President and CEO, Ajoy Bose, has been honoured as a recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Indian Institute of Technology at Kanpur.

Atrenta Chairman, President and CEO, Ajoy Bose, has been honoured as a recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award (DAA) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Kanpur, one of the premier institutes of higher learning in India.

The DAA is the highest award given by IIT Kanpur to its alumni in recognition of achievements of exceptional merit in the area of entrepreneurship, R and D, teaching, management or any other activity pertaining to the service of humanity at large.

Dr Bose was chosen to be the recipient of this prestigious award for his outstanding contributions in the field of electronic design automation (EDA) and for his accomplishments in the area of management, leadership and entrepreneurship.

He joins an elite group of DAA recipients, that includes Rakesh Gangwal, former CEO of US Airways, and NR Narayana Murthy, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Infosys Technologies.

"I am grateful for the outstanding education, wealth of knowledge and intellectual stimulation I received at IIT", said Dr Bose during his acceptance speech.

Addressing the students, he said: "When you graduate from IIT, you join one of the most powerful families in the world.

Always carry your IIT badge with honour and wear it with pride - it will give you instant credibility and open doors for you all over the world".
