Available from Audon Electronics is a range of low-cost relay boards for connection to PC parallel and serial ports.
The package can be used to collect data from any RS232 instrument or device, including scales and balances, gauges, pH meters, electrochemistry meters, laboratory instruments, sensors, densitometers, GPS receivers, barcode scanners, magnetic stripe readers, ID tag readers, temperature controllers etc.

CP Plus supports up to eight separate serial ports and can even read from multiple serial ports simultaneously.
It can be used to create charts and graphs within applications that automatically update with data from serial devices or instruments with automatic date and time stamping.
CPS Plus features simple but comprehensive data formatting functions, including fully configurable data filters to obtain the relevant data from the raw input strings, and it has the ability to send any formatting ASCII character(s) to the serial device.
This is all achieved without programming.
CPS Plus can run in the background, so users don't even know that it's there, and can be set to capture data on demand or at regular timed intervals.
With a purchase price of just GBP 55, the program can be downloaded from the Audon Electronics website and tried for free of charge for 40 days.
