Aculab has been named in the 2004 "Pulver 100", the VoIP industry's premiere listing of privately held growth companies that represent the future of the communications ecosystem.

Aculab has been named in the 2004 "Pulver 100", the VoIP industry's premiere listing of privately held growth companies that represent the future of the communications ecosystem.

Aculab has been named in the list due to its continued development of technology that allows solution providers to easily migrate their customer base to IP, demonstrated by customers providing successful IP based solutions worldwide.

Aculab often refers to itself as an enabling technology provider.

The "enabling" aspect encompasses much more than communications hardware and software.

It also describes the assistance offered throughout customers' own development and implementation lifecycle - consultancy, training, technical support, and marketing collaboration.

For those looking to target SMEs, Aculab is helping to open up the market through its host media processing product - Prosody S.

Prosody S leverages the media processing resources developed for the Prosody card portfolio and allows a range of these to be run on a host computers processor.

Next year, Prosody X will be introduced.

Prosody X is an IP centred card that combines TDM, IP telephony and Prosody speech functionality in a single slot.

Being IP centred, the card is flexible and appears more as a network connected computer than as a traditional card.

Among other benefits, this allows the card to be controlled by applications on different machines, including ones not containing any telephony hardware.

Aculab is also taking steps to ensure solution developers entering the market have the tools to make the integration of speech and IP connectivity as easy as possible - through the numerous alliances formed with technology and toolkit providers.

"2004 has been the year of VoIP - due in large part to companies like Aculab, that have helped spread IP communications via their hardware and software IP telephony portfolio", said Jeff Pulver, CEO of Pulver.com.

"We're proud to name Aculab to this year's Pulver 100".

Talking of the announcement, Chris Gravett, Aculab's Sales and Marketing Director said: "We have looked to Pulver.com for some years now as a highly regarded and respected reference to keep abreast of the news, views and trends happening in the IP marketplace".

"To be recognised in the Pulver 100 is great news for Aculab".

"It demonstrates our commitment to be at the forefront of leading edge technology whilst adjusting to the ever changing needs of our industry".
