DSP-based speech synthesis speaks five languages
Aculab has unveiled the latest version of its highly acclaimed free text-to-speech (TTS) software, which now features five languages, and runs on its Prosody DSP resource cards.
The comprehensive set of media processing resources, channel counts and codecs now supported by Prosody S, will mean an increasingly diverse range of applications can be based on it.
Furthermore it provides solution providers with the freedom to deploy their application on any CPU - be it in a PC, 1U server, embedded system or laptop.
Further flexibility is afforded in terms of solution densities.
Solution providers can deploy the exact number of channels required and easily add more when needed.
In short, Prosody S can free solution providers from the constraints of traditional DSP resource hardware and presents a very attractive price per port proposition - key factors to consider as we move into an increasingly IP centric market.
Speaking on this development, Faye McClenahan, Head of Strategic Marketing at Aculab said: "Attitudes towards host based media processing are changing".
"It is no longer seen as a technology that is suited to just small scale solutions or price sensitive markets".
"It is now being viewed 'as the future' of many different types of solution - from conferencing and online gaming platforms, to contact centres and media servers".
"In line with these views, Aculab is taking steps to enhance Prosody S further to allow a greater number of solution providers to take advantage of the benefits a software-based solution can bring them".
To promote the benefits of Prosody S, Aculab is offering customers a free four-channel 45-day evaluation period to test this latest version, which is available to download via Aculab's website through the Aculab Installation Tool (AIT).
