The official proceedings CD-ROM for this year's Automotive EMC 2005 Conference in Nuremberg, Germany, incorporates more than 100Mbyte of information.

The proceedings not only contain all the papers and presentations for the conference, but also full copies of the current Automotive EMC Directive (95/54/EC), its newly released replacement directive (2004/104/EC) and the complete study by York University that provided most of the input to the new directive changes.

The conference, being held on 11th May 2005 at the newly completed CCN Ost conference centre at the Nuremberg Messe, will cover most aspects of EMC design and testing for the automotive environment.

This is the first year the conference will have been held outside the UK and the event is being run in co-operation with the regular Sensor+Test Exhibition and Conference that is being held from 10th to 12th May.

"It's like starting from scratch moving the event from the UK to Germany", said Conference Organiser, Martin O'Hara: "We've had to try and address a completely new market".

"The German automotive market has a much more traditional supply chain than the UK and it is the car manufacturers suppliers who generally perform most of the EMC testing that is conducted".

"In the UK the automotive EMC testing market is one of the most active and well developed, but the automotive components market is expected to be larger in Germany".

The event is hoped to be switched bi-annually between Germany and the UK: "The success of this event will determine our future conference strategy", commented O'Hara.
