Avant!'s Star-RCXT extraction has been ranked first in parasitic extraction market share for new sales in 2000 by Dataquest.

According to the November 2001 Gartner Dataquest report entitled "EDA 2001: It's Good to Be an EDA Vendor", Star-RCXT's market share is more than double that of any other parasitic extraction vendor.

The market share of Star-RCXT has grown steadily for the last three years and today the top 25 semiconductor companies all use Avant!'s Star-RCXT extraction tool.

"Market acceptance of Star-RCXT has increased at a tremendous rate", said Dr Paul Lo, president of Avant! "With our commitment to continuous innovation and high quality, we expect even faster growth in the ultra-deep-submicron (UDSM) era.

We partner with leading-edge foundries and integrated device manufacturers to support the most advanced technologies with Star-RCXT extraction including the challenges of sub-0.1-micron processes".

Exciting new capabilities have been added to Star-RCXT over the last year.

Inductance extraction for multi-million-gate SoC designs with accurate modelling of single or multiple current return paths is one.

Another is the industry's fastest and most comprehensive device level extraction engine.

The core engine of Star-RCXT uses Avant!'s proprietary ScanBand processing technology that can extract a 5-million-gate design overnight.

Companies worldwide use Star-RCXT in production flows for varied design targets such as microprocessor, DRAM, high-performance ASIC, and customer-owned-tooling (COT) flows.

Star-RCXT extraction is a foundation capability for Avant!'s Milkyway-based, SinglePass-SoC solution.

It provides Apollo-II and Astro place-and-route users a consistent link between physical design and final verification.

In addition, Star-RCXT integrates seamlessly into stand-alone verification environments by supporting standard interfaces to third party design and analysis tools.
