Avant! Will host its sixth annual users' group meeting, Aurora 2002, at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose, California on 25th-26th February 2002.

Aurora (Avant! users resource organisation for real applications) enables users to meet informally to share design experiences, discuss future design directions, and explore new technology and product solutions.

This year's two-day event includes 10 presentations in which users present real-life design experiences.

In addition, R and D chat sessions will enable customers to learn techniques for maximising productivity with Avant! products and provide feedback directly to Avant! R and D about product development needs.

Avant!'s product experts will demonstrate the latest products and will present tutorials on specific tools and design flows.

"Aurora is an exceptional opportunity for Avant! users to share and exchange ideas on their 'extreme IC design' challenges and to learn about other engineers' experiences with Avant! products", said Dr Paul Lo, president of Avant! "It's also a great opportunity for Avant! to receive feedback from our user community about their design needs.

Aurora always provides important, first-hand input to accelerate the efforts of our R and D teams".

The keynote speaker for Aurora is Dr Chi-Foon Chan, president and COO of Synopsys.

Dr Chan will speak on the current status of the proposed merger between Avant! and Synopsys and will highlight the synergies between the two companies.
